How to find your market as a Personal Trainer

As a personal trainer you are your own boss. You are responsible for how many hours you work, what days you work, how many clients you need per month but the main question is ‘how do I market myself?’. This is a real struggle in todays world but we have so many platforms to use; Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube and most important word of mouth. [Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]You firstly need to understand yourself as a personal trainer, what exactly is your product, what are you selling? Are you a fresher in the industry who has just passed with a REPS Personal Trainer qualification or do you have other qualifications behind you. Do not market to ever-body as this is a waste of both time and money, I have been their and done it. [Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Focus on your niche, is it women aged between 20-26 years old wanting to increase muscle and reduce fat? is it semi professional athletes who are wanting to improve their performance within their sport? The more you focus on your niche and your brand the faster your business will start to grow. However it is all well marketing yourself but your main growth will come from your results with clients. Results speak a thousand words so make sure you choose your clients correctly as I tend to see new personal trainers entering the industry and ruining their business by taking too much on too quick. What I mean by this is that they will take every client that approaches them. Do not be scared to turn clients down. You need to be dedicated to your clients. [Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]I have been their myself as a personal trainer with three targets clients being; improving either a semi / professional athletes performance within their sport, helping women aged between 30-50 wanting to reduce fat and working with males aged 16-20 who are just entering the gym for the first time. If you think personal training is going to be an easy ride then please think again, 16/17 hour days, writing or typing programmes up throughout the night, the early starts at 5am through to 10pm, no social life due to the hours your working and Sundays are no longer a rest day.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Brent Wood-Townend
